Example setup: Electrical

Who it’s for: an electrical contractor tracking devices and panels from rough-in to trim.

What they want to know: how far along each floor is, and what’s left before inspection.

Use this as a starting list, and change whatever doesn’t fit.

  • Devices by type and stage
  • Devices still in rough-in, by page
  • Panels not yet energized
  • Open issues by priority
Field Field type Device Panel Issue Why
Mark Text Yes Yes Yes What lists and search call a point. The Name on every card type
Device stage Status: Not started, Rough-in, Trim, Done Yes Shows progress, and the report groups by it
Device type Select: Receptacle, Switch, Light, Data Yes The report groups by it; each choice has initials
Circuit Text Yes Read off the plan, so it’s worth a label
Panel stage Status: Set, Terminated, Energized Yes Panels move through different stages than devices
Fix status Status: Open, Fixed, Closed Yes An issue moves through its own stages
Priority Dropdown Yes The report groups by it
Photos Photos Yes Yes Yes Shows the work; nothing to count
Card type Color Inside Ring Also
Device Device stage Device type Nothing Circuit as a Label
Panel Panel stage Nothing Nothing Mark as a Label
Issue Fix status Nothing Nothing Priority as a Corner flag; Mark as a Label

Devices and panels get separate stage fields because their choices differ. Each device type’s initials, like R or SW, belong to the choice, so they’re the same on every point.

  • A template per common device, such as a duplex receptacle, with Device type filled in

Once points are going in, you can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Grok Bot things like:

  • “How many receptacles are still in rough-in, by floor?”
  • “Which panels aren’t energized yet?”
  • “What’s left on Level 2 before trim is done?”

Want a different setup? Tell Claude, ChatGPT or Grok Bot what your company does and ask it to adjust this one.
