  • To manage your Account, including registration, seats and access to Service features
  • To share your jobs with the crew members and Collaborators you invite
  • To bill you for your subscription

4. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information in the following situations:

  • With the people on your jobs: Crew members and Collaborators you invite see the drawings, points, photos and comments you share with them, along with the names of the people who made them.
  • With AI Assistants you connect: When you connect ChatGPT, Claude or another AI Assistant, it receives the Customer Content needed for what you ask it to do. Its provider handles that content under its own privacy policy. You can disconnect it at any time.
  • With Service Providers: We share information with vendors who help us operate our Services, such as hosting and storage, payments, email, and product analytics. These providers may only use it to provide their service to us and are bound by confidentiality agreements.

We do NOT:

  • Sell your Personal Data to third parties

  • Use your Customer Content for advertising

5. Data Retention

We keep your Personal Data and Customer Content while your Account is active. We keep billing records as long as tax and accounting law requires, and may keep other information longer where the law requires it or to resolve disputes.

Account Deletion

This section is for the Pointmap app, from the developer Pointmap (pointmap.io).

Your account: In the app, go to Settings and choose Delete my account. This asks your company’s owner to remove you. Once they do, you are signed out and the company’s data leaves your Devices. We purge your name from the project records 30 days later. Your company keeps those records and your email address, because they are its records of the work.

A company: A company’s owner can go to Settings and choose Delete company. We will email the owner before anything is deleted. Everyone in the company then loses access and its data is deleted, except what the law requires us to keep. Copies in backups last until those backups expire.

If you can’t open the app, email [email protected] from your account’s email address. You don’t need to sign in to make a request.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest
  • Access controls and authentication
  • Regular security assessments

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Data Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your Personal Data:

  • Access: Request a copy of your Personal Data
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your Personal Data (see Section 5)
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format
  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your data
  • Restriction: Request restriction of processing

To exercise these rights, contact us at the email address below. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

If you are a crew member or Collaborator on someone else’s Account, that Account’s owner controls the job data. We will pass your request to them and help them respond.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Services working and to understand how they are used.

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the Services to function, including signing in and security
  • Analytics: We use PostHog to understand how pointmap.io and the app are used. This can include recordings of app sessions and voice feedback you choose to send. Requests go through our own domain rather than to an outside tracker
  • Preference Cookies: Remember your settings and preferences

We do not use advertising cookies. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but this may limit your ability to use certain features of the Services.

9. Third-Party Links

Our Services may contain links to other websites not operated by us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

10. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using our Services, you consent to such transfers.

We take steps to ensure that your data receives adequate protection in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
